The Chinese embassy in Malaysia stated on Tuesday that the accord will remain valid for five years and will undergo an automatic extension for an additional five-year period.

Malaysia has recently declared that the visa-free travel privilege for visitors from China will be prolonged for another five years, with the possibility of further extending this status for an additional half-decade, according to statements made by Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.

The visa-free policy for Chinese tourists was initially implemented in December 2023 and has since been extended until 2026.
